Development
of sustainable livelihood is one of the major focuses of the organization.
Assets ownership is a successful way of countering vulnerability caused by
material and social poverty. FRIENDS facilitates livelihood development needs of
particularly marginalised women by introducing feasible micro and small scale
livelihood options, building human, social, physical, financial and natural
assets.
Effective motivation with continuous follow ups and monitoring is a crucial
factor in sustaining micro & small scale livelihoods. FRIENDS motivate and
support marginalised women to initiate mainly alternative and non-traditional
livelihoods. Further facilitate for development of skills and knowledge
coordinating with service organizations needed to sustain the livelihoods. It
pays special attention to organize women’s networks by ensuring social security
& dignity of women.
FRIENDS follows up, guides and monitors the initiated livelihoods through field
staff and community leaders.
